CCO's brand new production of Gilbert and Sullivan's magical fairytale

Charles Court Opera, much admired for their previous G & S shows at the rosie

and their quintessential Christmas panto Cinderella turn their hands to this wackily whimsical tale.

Top fairy Iolanthe, who was banished by the fairy queen 25 years previously for marrying a mortal but is now forgiven, returns with the news that she has a son, Strephon, who wishes to marry Phyllis, a Ward of Chancery. Unfortunately the Lord Chancellor also has his eye on the lovely Phyllis, but after much singing and quite a bit of dancing, both Peers and Peris arrive at a satisfactory arrangement and no doubt live happily ever after. With a cast of ten Charles Court Opera favourites David Menezes, John Savournin, Sebastian Valentine and Rosie Bell, with Giles Davies as the Lord Chancellor.
